MC Oluomo Promised Us N1.5 Million Each for Tinubu’s Campaign but Paid Nothing — Actor Lalude

Veteran Nollywood actor Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, known as Lalude, has accused MC Oluomo, President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), of failing to fulfill financial promises made to celebrities who campaigned for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu during the 2023 general elections.

Speaking on the Beyond the Fame podcast, Lalude expressed his disappointment, revealing that he and other entertainers were promised N1.5 million each by MC Oluomo but have yet to receive any payment.

He said that he and fellow actor and comedian Ganiu ‘Alapini’ Nofiu were accommodated and made to campaign for weeks without proper compensation. Initially, they received N10,000 daily for feeding, but this was abruptly stopped.

“We camped for seven weeks and trekked long distances every day while MC Oluomo followed us in his car. In the end, we were abandoned,” Lalude lamented.

He reiterated that the promised N1.5 million each for himself and Alapini was never paid.

“We completed the work, but no money was given to us. MC Oluomo was the one who called us and assured us we could ask for whatever we wanted. We did, but up till now, we have received nothing,” he said.

Lalude added bitterly, “He took us to where we lodged to campaign for the president and promised to pay N1.5 million each. Those behind this deceit will not prosper. I know they will come back to us by 2027, and we are ready.”

This statement follows similar expressions of regret by veteran actor Ganiu Nafiu (Alapini) and actress Bukky Adekogbe Raji (Aminatu Papapa), who recently voiced their disappointment over supporting President Tinubu during the campaign.
