Fubara Resumes as Rivers Governor, Pledges Loyalty to Tinubu, Wike

Gov. Fubara

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has formally resumed duty as the Governor of Rivers State, reaffirming his commitment to the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.

Speaking at the Government House in Port Harcourt on Friday, Fubara said his administration would continue to align with the policies of the Federal Government under Tinubu, noting that national cooperation was crucial for peace and development in Rivers.

He also restated his loyalty to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike, whom he described as a mentor and leader whose guidance remained invaluable in navigating the complexities of governance.

“Our government is dedicated to working in harmony with Mr. President for the progress of Rivers people and Nigeria at large. We will also sustain the relationship of respect and loyalty to our leader, Chief Nyesom Wike, who has shown us the way,” Fubara said.

The governor’s renewed commitment comes against the backdrop of recent political tensions in the state, which had sparked speculation about cracks in his alliance with Wike. His statement is expected to calm nerves within the ruling political structure in Rivers, where both Tinubu’s presidency and Wike’s influence have been decisive.

Fubara urged residents to remain peaceful and supportive of government initiatives, assuring them that ongoing projects and reforms would continue unhindered.
