Female Archbishop Arrested After Video Shows Naira Spraying on Live Cow

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Archbishop Angel Oyeghe, founder of Faith Healing Ministry in Warri, Delta State, over alleged conspiracy, naira mutilation and suspected money laundering.

Operatives from the Commission’s Benin Zonal Directorate picked her up on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, following a viral video that showed individuals under her supervision spraying naira notes on a live cow during a church programme.

The EFCC said the act violates Section 21 of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007, which prohibits the abuse and mutilation of the national currency. Other suspects seen in the footage are currently being trailed.

Archbishop Oyeghe has reportedly given useful statements to investigators and will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
