Ex-Lover Stabs Interior Designer to Death in Lagos

A young interior designer, Deborah Moses, popularly known as Deb’rah Porsche, has been killed in Lagos by her former boyfriend, months after she ended their relationship.

The incident occurred late Wednesday night inside her residence, sending shockwaves through her community and sparking outrage from family members, neighbours, and rights activists demanding justice.

Police sources confirmed the case, which was first reported at the Oko-Oba Division, has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.

According to eyewitness accounts, the suspect disguised as a dispatch rider to gain entry into the estate. When security officials became suspicious, he allegedly scaled the fence into the compound and made his way to Deborah’s apartment.

He was said to have first attempted to trigger an explosion by tampering with her cooking gas pipe outside the building. When that failed, he reportedly forced his way into her home and stabbed her multiple times, killing her on the spot.

Family sources disclosed that Deborah had ended the relationship more than a year ago but had since been receiving threats from the suspect.

“He kept saying things like, ‘If I don’t have you, nobody will. If I don’t marry you, blood will flow,’” a grieving relative recounted.

The victim had just completed her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme and was said to be gradually establishing her career before her life was cut short.

Neighbours reportedly subdued the suspect after the attack and handed him over to the police. He is currently in custody.

Rights activists and the deceased’s family are calling for a thorough investigation and prosecution, insisting the case must not be swept under the carpet.
