Tension arose in Enugu, yesterday, following the killing of two persons during a bloody clash between some Igbo and Fulani at Gariki Market, Enugu. Those killed were identified as one Ali, a Fulani man and Ifeanyi Ifeacho, an Igbo man. Sources said the incident happened on Wednesday evening. Lukmon Kolawole, a 41-year-old welder, was on Thursday brought before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stabbing a married woman with bottle for fighting his wife. Kolawole, a resident of Aresanolu St. Agege, Lagos, is being tried for breach of peace and assault. According to the prosecutor, Insp. Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group has appeared in a new video to debunk Nigeria’s government claims that the group has been crushed and flushed out of its Sambisa forest stronghold. “We are safe. Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo’s Kingsway International Christian Centre, a 12,000-member megachurch in Britain, has lost $4.8 million to a Ponzi scheme after trustees carelessly invested money in it.
