Ali Haruna, a herdsman in Ekiti has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by an Ekiti State High Court. The herdsman was imprisoned for destroying crops worth N1.5 million in the farm. The state Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, held that the prosecution had proved the case against the accused beyond reasonable doubt setting aside the appeal filed against the judgment of the Chief Magistrate’s Court. Rilwan Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos, , has blamed President Muhammadu Buhari for the problem in the operations of the Nigeria Police Force. In order to aid its fight against Boko Haram militants, US State Department has approved the sale of US warplanes to Nigeria, ending a suspension of weapons sales that followed a deadly Nigerian military strike on a refugee camp.
