Man sentenced to 10 strokes of Cane for stealing logs of wood

A 32-year-old carpenter, Abba Sa’idu was on Tuesday sentenced to 10 strokes of the cane for stealing two logs of wood by a Sharia Court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna. The judge, Dahiru Lawal, also ordered Sa’idu to wash the restroom of the court after he pleaded guilty to theft. Earlier, the convict said that he stole the wood to make a wardrobe for a tailor. The quake occurred off the west coast of the largest Japanese island, Honshu. According to preliminary reports, the epicentre was just 5km below the ground.
