The Federal Government has been asked by the Islamic Republic of Iran, to release the embattled Islamic cleric, Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, to enable him travel to that country for medical treatment. Most worship centres conducting marriages in Nigeria did not possess the licence to do so under the statutory Marriage Act. This was made known by the Federal Ministry of Interior. It explained that only 314 places of worship were licensed to contract marriages in the country.
