Advanced vagina reconstruction surgeries on three women with Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) have been successfully carried out at the Maryam Abacha Children and Women Hospital, Sokoto. Vaginal reconstruction is the creation of a new or artificial vagina after surgery to remove part or the entire vagina; it is also used as a treatment for vaginal cancer. Medical expert says Smoking hastens menopause in women

Dr Tajudeen Olawepo, an Ilorin based Medical Doctor has said that cigarette smoking hastens the commencement of menopause in women. He told stated this in Ilorin on Friday that studies had shown that smoking hastened menopause by approximately one to two years, regardless of race or genetic background. About N9.6billion worth of substandard pharmaceutical products were yesterday destroyed by the National Agency for Foods Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Igwurita, near Port Harcourt.
