The National Broadcasting Corporation has banned five Nigerian songs and tagged them “Not to be Broadcast.” The banned songs are Olamide‘s ‘Wo’ and ‘Wavy Level,’ Davido‘s ‘Fall’ and ‘If (Remix),’ and 9ice’s ’Living Things.’ The broadcast regulatory body released the list yesterday, saying it has banned the five songs from being aired across Nigerian airwaves. After a dreary weekend marred by flash floods, the resilient city of Lagos has gotten its groove back. Thanks to a colourful flash mob of street sweepers that toured the metropolis for three days doing choreographed dances while “cleaning” on the go. Olurotimi Ayinde, a.k.a Abu Olododo is dead. The Nigerian film industry has once again been thrown into mourning, following his death in Abeokuta, capital of Ogun State, on Sunday night. The news of Ayinde’s passage came a few hours after the death of seasoned actor, poet and journalist, Adebayo Faleti, was announced. Adebayo Faleti, a celebrated actor and playwright, is dead. He died on Sunday in his home in Ibadan at the age of 86. The Federal Government have been criticised by some popular Nigerian musicians for planning to stop the production of Nigerian music videos abroad, saying the policy will hinder global competitiveness of the music industry.
