A head teacher, Benjamin Ogba, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by Justice Abiola Soladoye of the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court on Tuesday, for defiling two underage girls, who are both seven years old. The judge held that the prosecution proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt, with the ingredients of defilement to the court’s satisfaction. A 37-year-old woman, Fatima Abubakar, in Yola South Local Government Area of Adamawa State has been arrested for allegedly torturing two toddlers under her care. Confirming the arrest on Monday, the state police spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, said investigations revealed that she subjected the children to abuse because they urinated and defecated inside the house. Victoria Effiong, a 25-year-old tailor, was arraigned on Friday before a Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Iba for allegedly refusing to marry a suitor after collecting N2.8m from him.
