A child trafficking syndicate who allegedly sold a six-hour-old baby for N850,000 shortly after he was born, have been arrested by operatives of the Imo State Police Command. Uwani Danjuma, a 30-year-old man, has been arrested for killing his wife because she planned to re-marry after his supposed death. The incident occurred at Uddu Village in the Rijau Local Government Area of Niger State.According to Danjuma, his late wife had told him when he was sick weeks earlier that if he dies, she will re-marry another man. Over half of a kilogramme of cocaine was recovered by Customs officers at Hong Kong International Airport, from a Nigerian woman who allegedly hid the drug in her body. The 37-year-old  arrived in the city on a flight from Lagos via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Hafsat, a 50-year-old housewife, has been arrested by the Niger State Police Command yesterday, alongside her 25-year-old son for allegedly beating the father, Ali Haruna, to death for shielding his daughter for stealing from their mother. An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a pastor with a Pentecostal church, Fisayo Nehemiah, to five years’ imprisonment after he was convicted of fraud. Nehemiah was sentenced by the Chief Magistrate R. Davies-led court on Friday. The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested one Essien Okon, who allegedly killed his 12-year-old son, Joseph, over alleged witchcraft. Essien and his wife, Peace, allegedly prepared a poisonous concoction with a certain seed called asene and forced the boy to drink it.
