900 workers representing 60 per cent of Aero Contractors Airline staff, which is presently under the management of the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), has been sacked. Letters of redundancy were issued to the affected employees during the week. Emirates flight grounded over snake onboard

A snake was found aboard an Emirates Airlines flight from Muscat to Dubai. The flight was cancelled after baggage handlers discovered a snake in the aircraft’s cargo hold. The animal was found before Sunday’s flight from Oman, the airline said in a statement, adding that the aircraft was returned to service after being thoroughly searched. A major disaster was averted in Canada on Saturday as the pilot of a Boeing 737 allegedly passed out in the cockpit. The pilot has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk. Arik Air fined N6m over ‘poor handling’ of luggage

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has fined Arik Air N6 million for the violation of aviation rules in the recent poor handling of luggage belonging to some London passengers.
