Burna Boy’s Sister Debunks Rumour of Mother’s Removal as Manager

A viral social media report claiming that Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has dropped his mother, Bose Ogulu, as his manager has been dismissed as false.

The rumour circulated widely on Friday amid backlash trailing the singer’s troubled No Sign of Weakness tour in the United States. The speculation was fueled by an alleged Instagram Story credited to Burna Boy, suggesting his mother had been relieved of her managerial role.

However, the singer’s sister, Nissi Ogulu, swiftly shut down the claim, describing it simply as “FAKE NEWS.”

The report had ignited conversations among fans who linked it to controversies around the tour, including declining turnout and the cancellation of the November 28 and December 1 shows.

Burna Boy has faced public scrutiny in recent weeks following a November 12 incident at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado, where he paused his performance to ask that a front-row fan, who appeared to be asleep, be removed from the venue. The fan, Chaltu Jateny, later revealed she was dealing with emotional distress after a personal loss, a revelation that sparked widespread criticism of the singer’s response.

The criticism intensified after videos from his November 22 Houston show revealed numerous empty seats, alongside another viral clip of a female attendee sleeping during the concert. The situation was further compounded by a resurfaced livestream in which Burna Boy remarked, “Did I tell you all to be my fans? I am only looking for fans who have money,” a statement many said contributed to growing public resentment.

While the rumoured shake-up in Burna Boy’s management has been laid to rest, conversations around his cancelled tour dates and recent on-stage conduct continue to dominate social media discussions.
