10 suspects who disguised as American soldiers fighting in Afghanistan have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). According to the anti-graft agency, the suspects allegedly defrauded some American citizens by impersonating as their soldiers. A 10-year-old girl has died from complications that arose after undergoing female genital mutilation in Sierra Leone, authorities said. Marie Kamara, a primary school student in Matetie village, died during an initiation into a secret women’s society that involves the practice of female genital mutilation, also known as FGM, police said. Report from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that the number of unemployed Nigerians rose by 3.3 million to 20.9 million in the third quarter of 2018 (Q3’18). An inferno said to have been caused by an explosion from a vandalised Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipeline on Pipeline Road off Awori by stop, has left no fewer than 100 houses, 100 shops and 50 cars destroyed in the early hours of yesterday, in Abule-Egba and Agege areas of Lagos, rendering several families homeless.
