A Bishop and suspected fraudster, Giniko Obi, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, in Benin City, for allegedly defrauding thousands of people of various sums of money running into millions of naira. Doyin Okupe, a former senior special assistant to the president, was yesterday arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on alleged money laundering and diversion of funds totalling N702million. Man kills wife and two sons in Edo

Uwaila, a 35-year-old man, has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command, for shooting his wife and two sons dead. The incident happened on Sunday at Ovbiogie village in the Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state. Security agents were said to have evacuated the corpses to an undisclosed mortuary. A 50-year-old man, who raped his own daughter on his wedding night “because he thought she was his wife” has been sentenced to two years and six months imprisonment.
