Insurgents ambush, kill 47 soldiers in Borno

The Nigerian military yesterday, lost 47 soldiers in an ambush by the Boko Haram sect in Borno State. Defence Headquarters (DHQ) confirmed the killings. Immediate past Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), Winifred Oyo-Ita, yesterday(Monday) got a NI00 million bail in the N570 million fraud suit initiated against her and eight others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). They were arraigned before Federal High Court, Abuja presided over by Justice Taiwo Taiwo. FG closes all land borders, suspends FEC meetings to contain COVID-19

The Federal Government on Monday ordered the closure of all land borders for four weeks and the suspension of Federal Executive Council (FEC) meetings indefinitely to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Nigeria. COVID-19: IGP charge officers to enforce compliance of social gathering restrictions order

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has directed zonal Assistant inspectors-general of police and state police commissioners to strictly enforce the directives of restricting social gathering in their respective jurisdiction.
