Oyo state’s Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan, was on Sunday, stopped from attending the eighth-day fidau held for the late former governor, Abiola Ajimobi. The deputy was on Sunday denied access into Ajimobi’s house in Oluyole Estate, Ibadan where the fidau prayer, scheduled for 11am, held amid tight security. Cosmetic surgeon arraigned in Lagos over failed plastic surgery

A Lagos-based cosmetic surgeon, Dr Anuoluwapo Adepoju, whose services allegedly resulted in the death of one Mrs Nneka Onwuzuligbo, was on Friday arraigned by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission. Adepoju, alongside her hospital, Med Contour Services Limited, was arraigned for allegedly obstructing an investigation by the FCCPC into the case. With the confirmation of 454 new infections, Nigeria’s coronavirus cases hit 27,564 on Friday. This is as the number of associated deaths rose to 628, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, on Friday, directed that schools should reopen on Monday, August 3, for only Senior Secondary School Class 3 and Technical Schools Class 3.
