COVID-19: Cases hit 39,977 in Nigeria
The total number of confirmed fatalities in the coronavirus pandemic was put at 856 on Saturday as the number of confirmed cases in Nigeria hit 39,977. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, on Saturday, confirmed that 438 persons had tested positive, bringing the total number of infections to 39,977. The Borno State Commissioner for Information, Babakura Jatau, has announced that 601 repentant terrorists who are being reintegrated into their communities have been given N20,000 stipends and some basic equipment to practise their respective vocations.
