The application filed by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to stop Rivers State Government from collecting Value Added Tax (VAT) in the state, has met a brickwall, as a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has dismissed the application. A 64-year- old man, Taiwo Ayotunde, is being detained by police in Ogun State for allegedly defiling a two-year-old girl. Man climbs telecoms mast, threatens suicide in Gombe

Umar Abubakar, a 28-year-old man, on Sunday, reportedly spent over seven hours on a telecoms mast, threatening to kill himself. COVID-19: NCDC records 444 new cases

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control has recorded 444 new infections from 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with seven more COVID-19-related deaths.
