Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a 50-year-old Mgbeobuna Victor Eberechukwu for ingesting 77 pellets of cocaine at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu. The suspect was arrested on Saturday, August 6, following his arrival from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, onboard an Ethiopian airline flight. The suspect, who hails from Anambra State, passed out the 77 wraps of the illicit drug in eight excretions spanning four days. A notorious kidnapper, Hamisu Bala, popularly known as Wadume, and two others, have been sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment by Federal High Court in Abuja. Others charged with Wadume are Auwalu Bala (aka Omo Razor), Uba Bala (aka Uba Delu), Bashir Waziri (aka Baba Runs), Zubairu Abdullahi (aka Basho) and Rayyanu Abdul. Anambra State Police have arrested a lesbian for killing a man identified as Ikechukwu Onuma popularly known as ‘Ayaaya Onye-Obodo’. The unidentified woman killed the husband of her female lover, who was a staff of the College of Health, Onitsha, stabbing him to death with a knife. A pastor, Erinmole Adetokunbo, and his accomplice, Adedoyin Oyekanmi, has been sentenced to death by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting at Ikeja, on Tuesday, for killing a seven-year-old boy in the Ikorodu area of the state. Justice Taiwo gave the verdict after the defendants changed their pleas from not guilty to guilty.
