Victor Abayomi, a chef to the former governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has been remanded on the order of a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court, on Monday for allegedly stealing valuables worth millions of naira at the former governor’s Ikoyi residence. Chief Magistrate Mr Peter Nwaka, who made the order, remanded the defendant for 30 days at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre. The Federal Government has said schools in 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, are at risk of attacks by bandits and insurgents, following the resurgence of the mass abduction of pupils. A mother attempting to kill her sick child, using an insecticide has been arrested by police in Lagos. The Police spokesman in the state, Superintendent Benjamin Hundeyin, on Saturday said that the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, reported the attempt to the police on Friday.
