Anambra Apprentice, Accomplice Arraigned for Alleged Murder of Employer, Theft of N8m

The Anambra State Police Command has arraigned an apprentice, Chiemerie Anieke, and his alleged accomplice, Godwin Nnabuike Nwokporo, over the murder of his employer, Ikechukwu Simon Nwite, and the theft of millions of naira.

Police said the incident occurred on February 16 in Fegge, Onitsha, when the apprentice allegedly killed the victim with a pestle during a confrontation over suspected theft and drug use.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department arraigned the suspects before the High Court in Onitsha on March 18, 2026.

Investigations further revealed that the second defendant allegedly facilitated the transfer of over N8 million from the deceased’s account by providing a bank account used in the transaction.

The police said the suspects are now facing prosecution over the alleged offences.
