Armed bandits have abducted the wife and daughter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The victims, Hajia Fatima and her daughter Amina, were taken from the Sakpefu community residence of the party chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Swasun, late Sunday night.
Eyewitnesses said the assailants stormed the area around 11 p.m., shooting sporadically before breaking into the house and whisking away the two women.
Local vigilantes reportedly mobilised in response but arrived too late to prevent the abduction. A search operation was said to be underway as of press time.
The attack occurred just days after gunmen raided Esanti and Lalagi villages, also in Patigi, killing a driver and abducting another resident.
The Kwara State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the incident.
