Ex-CJN Mohammed Uwais dies at 88

Former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mohammed Uwais, died in the early hours of Friday, at 88 years..

Uwais served as Chief Justice of Nigeria from 1995 until his retirement in 2006.

Following his retirement, he chaired the Presidential Electoral Reform Committee inaugurated by late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

A respected legal luminary, his funeral arrangements are yet to be officially announced, while tributes from legal, political, and civic leaders are expected to start coming in.
