Plateau State Police Arrest Two Doctors in Connection with Organ Harvesting Scandal

Plateau State Police Command has apprehended two more medical doctors in connection with the alleged illegal organ harvesting by a suspected fake doctor, Noah Kekere. The Police Public Relations Officer, Alabo Alfred, confirmed the arrests and mentioned that these suspects, along with Kekere, are currently under police custody and are undergoing investigation.

Noah Kekere, the suspected quack doctor, was initially arrested for allegedly removing a woman’s kidney during surgery. The Plateau State chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has distanced itself from Kekere, asserting that investigations revealed he was not a licensed medical doctor.

Alabo did not disclose the identities of the newly arrested individuals but stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state would soon assemble a team of medical experts to thoroughly investigate the woman who claimed Kekere removed one of her vital organs during surgery. This step aims to determine whether the victim’s organ was indeed tampered with.

“We have arrested two additional suspects who actually conducted the surgery on the woman. We are collaborating with the Ministry of Health and the NMA to involve professionals in our investigation,” Alabo stated. “The Commissioner of Police will constitute a committee of seasoned medical experts to delve into these allegations and uncover the truth.”

Kekere was initially apprehended after a businessman, Alhaji Kamal, accused him of removing one of his wife’s kidneys during a surgery in 2018. Kamal’s wife, Kehinde, had suffered from chronic stomach pain for five years, leading to her being taken to Kekere’s clinic for treatment. Kekere diagnosed her with ruptured appendicitis and conducted surgery.
