Nigerian Navy Nabs Impostors Posing as Personnel in Lagos Sting Operation

The Nigerian Navy, led by Commander Commodore Kolawole Oguntuga of NNS BEECROFT, recently apprehended six individuals posing as Navy personnel in Ajah, Lagos State. These impostors were involved in unlawful activities like extortion and intimidation while falsely claiming Navy affiliation.

Alongside the arrests, two Toyota Hilux vehicles, counterfeit Nigerian Navy IDs, and related documents were confiscated. These seized items, along with the suspects, have been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and legal action.

Commodore Oguntuga emphasized the importance of public vigilance and encouraged citizens to promptly report any suspicious behavior to authorities. He also mentioned that eight stowaways were detained during routine maritime patrols on board a vessel, emphasizing the Navy’s commitment to maintaining security in the maritime environment.
