Missing National Open University Student Found Dead in Abuja Woods

The lifeless body of Blessing Karami, a National Open University of Nigeria undergraduate who went missing on September 11, 2023, has been discovered in the Karimo area of the Federal Capital Territory. The police are focusing on conducting a comprehensive and impartial inquiry into the circumstances surrounding her tragic demise.

Blessing Karami had been reported missing after leaving her workplace in the Garki area of Abuja on the aforementioned date. Subsequently, one Aminu, alleged to be her boyfriend, was detained by the Durumi Divisional Police Headquarters, Abuja, after being questioned about her disappearance.

The deceased’s elder brother, Genesis Karami, received a distressing call that led to the discovery of her body. The caller claimed to have seen a female body in Idu and accurately described what Blessing had worn on the day she went missing.

Genesis Karami, along with a group of policemen, attempted to locate the body. However, the caller continually changed locations, frustrating their efforts. Eventually, the caller confirmed Blessing’s demise, and her decomposed body was discovered in the Karmo bush. Due to the advanced decomposition, arrangements were made with environmental authorities to handle the body.

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, assured the public that the police are committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding Blessing Karami’s tragic death. She emphasized the unwavering dedication of the police to conducting a thorough and impartial investigation into the incident.

The police are collaborating with the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) to respectfully retrieve the remains. Updates will be provided to the public as the investigation progresses, and the police expressed their condolences to the family and loved ones of Blessing Karami Moses during this difficult time.
