Man Fatally Shot While Testing Gun Charm in Bauchi State

A 43-year-old man named Muhammadu Ali from Damaiwa village, Bauchi State, was tragically shot and killed while testing a charm against gunshots with the help of a native doctor and three others. They were in the Damaiwa bush to assess the efficacy of the charm, but when a locally-made gun was fired at Muhammadu, the charm failed, resulting in his death.

The Bauchi State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakil, reported that the police rushed to the scene upon receiving the information and took Muhammadu to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two of the individuals involved were arrested, while the others who fled are being pursued by the police.

In a separate incident, an armed robber who had participated in a robbery at the Bishop Moore Memorial School Staff Quarters was killed by a mob. The police responded to the robbery, arrested some suspects, and prevented them from being lynched by the mob. The Commissioner of Police condemned the mob’s actions and stressed that suspects should be handed over to the police for proper investigation and prosecution.

The arrested robbery suspects, Suleiman Adamu and Umar Abubakar, were found to have broken into students’ compounds with dangerous weapons and were in possession of machetes, mobile phones, laptops, and Mp3 players. Further investigations are underway to apprehend their accomplices and bring them to court for prosecution.
