LASEMA Saves Seven Children from Devastating Fire Incident

In a swift operation, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) successfully rescued seven children from a fire outbreak at an orphanage and motherless babies home in Lagos. According to LASEMA’s statement, the fire originated from an air conditioning unit due to a power surge on Sunday afternoon, engulfing the one-storey building located at No. 7 Wole Madariola St., off Enitan Kusimo Street, Aguda, Lagos.

The agency acted promptly, evacuating all seven male children, aged between one and seven years, from the building. The children were safely relocated to a nearby compound while LASEMA coordinated with the home’s management. To ensure the well-being of the children, temporary arrangements were made to relocate them to the owner’s residence.

The fire, which initially spread to a storage room, has been successfully extinguished by the firefighting team, with the completion of dampening down operations.
