On Monday afternoon, a tragic ambush occurred in the Kangon Garacce community, Zamfara State, resulting in the deaths of seven soldiers and several residents. The attack took place in the Dangulbi district of the Maru Local Government Area.
According to Lawal Dangulbi, a resident of Dangulbi community, the soldiers had responded to a distress call about the bandit attack on the Kangon Garacce community.
However, upon arrival, the bandits had already strategized, with some attacking the community directly, and others positioning themselves outside to prevent the military from assisting the villagers.
In this well-coordinated ambush, the bandits targeted and killed seven soldiers, while also claiming the lives of at least 20 civilians in the violent attack. The incident has left the community in shock and mourning over the loss of lives.
