One of Nigeria’s internet service providing companies, Spectranet is in the news.
The company which is unarguably one of the first to launch 4g LTE internet service, may have to look into its staff welfare as stories coming out of the company is not in the best interest of its image.
According to inside sources, one of the senior officers of the company, Zakir Riviz who happens to be the Operations manager is alleged to have turned himself to an emperor in the organization.
Zakir who operates from the Abuja branch is allegedly making life unbearable for Nigerians working at Spectranet.
In fact, there are several stories of highhandedness, verbal abuse and other misconducts by the man against staffers.
“He shouts, insults and even threaten staff at will, and he has no respect for employees of the organization, a staff alleged.
Asked if the management is aware of Zakir’s attitude to staff, and the response from one of the sources was positive. “Yes, management is aware. In fact, during a Customer care training program on Internal Customer and External Customer, anchored by an external company, the staff complained to the facilitator, about Zakir’s unruly behaviour, and it is believed that the facilitator informed the CEO of the staff complaints, but he refused to bulge.
According to a source, one of the recent victims of Zakir is one Maimunat Adetuyi. She was said to have resigned from Spectranet due to frustration and this, she stated in her resignation letter. She also sent a copy of her letter to the management.
The lady, according to sources alleged that Zakir is fond of insulting her parents and hurling curses at her for reasons she can not explain.
The Managing Director of the company is a gentleman, and even the management staff are not bullies except Zakir who seems to always look for avenues to vent his frustration, and that he does only to workers, says another source.
