Ex-president Zuma turns himself in, begins 15-month prison sentence

Former South African president, Jacob Zuma turned himself in to prison on Wednesday to begin serving a 15-month sentence for contempt of court. In a historic ruling, the Constitutional Court last week handed Zuma a 15-month term for snubbing anti-graft investigators. Police had earlier on Wednesday warned they were prepared to arrest the former president by a midnight deadline to enforce the ruling, unless the top court instructed otherwise. Scientific Equipment Development Institute’s DG assassinated in Enugu

Prof. Samuel Ndubuisi, the Director-General of Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), was on Wednesday assassinated in Enugu. It was reported that Ndubuisi along with his police orderly were shot dead along the Centenary City Junction axis of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway. The driver of the vehicle reportedly sustained injuries and had been taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention.
