Two policemen, Assistant Superintendent of Police Tijani Olatunji and Inspector Gboyega Oyeniyi, have been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force for allegedly subjecting a suspected robber’s girlfriend to dehumanising treatment at the man’s house in the Ibadan area of Oyo State. Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State, has congratulated a former governor of the state, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on his 91 years birthday celebration. Women in Southern Kaduna protested against persistent killings in the area half naked. It was learnt that the protest took place at Atak Njei, Agwam Atyap palace, Zango-Kataf Local Government Area of the state. A source said the protesting women condemned the killings and destruction of property, which they noted had deprived them of their breadwinners and turn them into widows. House of Representatives has resolved to sue the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, for alleged perjury and defamation of the parliament. Akpabio had on Monday, while appearing before the House Committee on the Niger Delta Development Commission at an investigative hearing on the alleged illegal spending and mismanagement by the NDDC, alleged that members of the National Assembly got 60 per cent of contracts from the commission.
