Nigerian brand strategist, influencer and author, Anda Damisa Paul, popularly known as Lazywrita, has died, sources close to him have confirmed.
Details surrounding his death remain unclear. However, friends disclosed that a scheduled Instagram post published on December 29, 2025, suggested his passing may have been connected to emotional distress following a failed relationship.
According to the sources, Damisa reportedly died several days before the post went live, having programmed it in advance to announce his death.
In the message, Lazywrita wrote: “Don’t cry for me please o… I lived a full and adventurous life, people who know me can testify, I just don’t have the energy to continue anymore. Now, I am happy, unburdened and freeee!!”
He expressed regret over “not watching the new episodes of Stranger Things and not getting married to LOML when I had a chance,” while urging friends and loved ones not to blame themselves for his decision.
Explaining why the message was posted, he added: “I deleted all my socials across all platforms. I have just this one left and I felt it was imperative my friends and loved ones see this message so no false narrative is written and so they know I’m good and in a better place.”
Lazywrita was widely regarded as a pioneer in Nigeria’s brand and influencer marketing space. He played a significant role in shaping early digital storytelling and online brand engagement long before social media became mainstream in the country.
His work helped define standards for brand visibility and creative strategy that continue to influence the industry today. In 2013, he was listed among YNaija’s Top 100 Social Media Influencers and also served as the face of several leading Nigerian brands.
His death has sparked an outpouring of tributes across social media, with colleagues and followers remembering him for his creativity, insight and lasting impact on Nigeria’s digital marketing landscape.
