Fresh controversy has trailed the marriage of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, following allegations of domestic violence made public by Regina’s brother, Sammy West.
In a viral video making the rounds on social media, Regina Daniels appeared emotional as she lamented her experience in her marriage, saying:
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. Not again, I cannot stand the violence; it is too much.”
Shortly after the video surfaced, her brother, Sammy West, took to Instagram to accuse Senator Nwoko of physically assaulting the actress. He alleged that the politician “beat my sister and smashed her head on the wall,” adding that thugs were later sent after her.
“Senator Ned Nwoko, you get luck say after you beat my sister again, smash her head for wall, you run comot send thugs!” Sammy West wrote in a since-deleted post.
The allegations have sparked widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians taking to social media to express concern for the actress and to call for accountability. Some users also flooded Nwoko’s official pages, demanding a response to the accusations.
As of press time, Senator Ned Nwoko had not issued an official statement addressing the claims. Efforts to reach his media aides for comment proved unsuccessful.
The couple, who married in 2019 and share two children, have often been the subject of public attention due to their age difference and high-profile lifestyle.
Observers say the latest development underscores the growing concern over domestic violence within high-society marriages and the role of social media in exposing private conflicts to public scrutiny.
