Three members of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry in Akure North Local Council, Ondo State were abducted by armed kidnappers while returning from a Bible study session at the Kasemola axis of Ogbese in the council area.
Sources revealed that the kidnappers ambushed the victims before attacking and whisking them into the bush.
The abduction was confirmed by a church member, who requested anonymity, in a message that read: “Good morning, beloved. Kindly pray along with us. Three of our members were kidnapped yesterday (Monday) after Bible study at Kasemola inside the Ogbese axis.”
The church member further stated that the congregation is seeking divine intervention for the safe release of the victims, adding that the case has been reported to the police and the Amotekun Corps in the state.
It was gathered that the kidnappers have contacted the victims’ families, demanding a ransom of N5 million for their release. When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident, stating that security operatives have been deployed to the community.
Ayanlade assured the public that security personnel are combing the bushes and forests in the area to track down the kidnappers and rescue the victims.
