Abdulrasheed Maina, ex-Chairman, Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), has been released from Kuje Correctional Centre nine months after his detention. Maina, who was arraigned before Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court, Abuja, on Oct. 25, 2019, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alongside his son, Faisal, and firm, Common Input Property and Investment Ltd., had been in detention since the period. ‌Mr Eyitayo Jegede, former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Ondo State, has been elected the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for the October 10 governorship election in the state. Rotimi Akeredolu, current governor of Ondo State, has won the governorship primary election held on Monday with a landslide victory. Akeredolu polled 2,725 to become the candidate of the party, Olusola Oke came second with 262 votes while lsaacs Kekemeke came a distant third with 19 votes Over 3,127 delegates voted in the election which commenced by 2pm and ended by 8:20pm. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved that the name of the railway station in Agbor, Delta State, be called Goodluck Jonathan Railway Station and Complex. The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, disclosed this while inspecting the Warri-Itakpe Rail Line on Saturday. He also said railway fares would double as a result of measures put in place to halt the spread of COVID-19 when services begin on rail lines, especially on the Abuja-Kaduna line. The former EFCC boss regained his freedom Wednesday evening. Magu has been facing a Presidential Investigative Panel over allegations leveled against him in a memo by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami.
