The Federal Government has been asked by the Islamic Republic of Iran, to release the embattled Islamic cleric, Sheik Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, to enable him travel to that country for medical treatment. Most worship centres conducting marriages in Nigeria did not possess the licence to do so under the statutory Marriage Act. This was made known by the Federal Ministry of Interior. Visa restrictions has been imposed by the United States Government on some Nigerian politicians, which it said undermined Nigerian democracy.
