UK to impose visa ban on politicians inciting electoral violence

British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing, has said the United Kingdom will impose visa restrictions on any politician caught inciting violence in the forthcoming elections. Naira redesign: Only old N200 notes re-issued -CBN

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, insisted yesterday that only the old N200 notes were re-issued as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari. The clarification came against the backdrop of reports that President Muhamnmadu Buhari had issued an order directing the CBN to also re-issue the N500 and N1,000 notes. A woman identified simply as Mama Dada has reportedly set herself ablaze in her rented apartment over her inability to pay back a N70,000 loan she took from a microfinance bank. Boy kidnaps mum in Zamfara, collects N30m ransom

A 20-year-old boy has been arrested for allegedly conniving with five others to abduct his mother and three others and collecting the sum of N30m as ransom by the Zamfara state police command.
