Eight persons have been arrested by the Borno State police in connection with the suspected murder of a University of Maiduguri lecturer, Kamar Abdulkadir. Babalola Dolapo, a 39-year-old fruit trader, has been arrested for killing his childhood friend, Evangelist Opeyemi Oyelakin, stealing his motorcycle and dumping his corpse in a pit on Oke-Igbo Road in Oke-Igbo/Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State. Ugochukwu Onuoha, a middle aged man, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by an Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court, for defiling a five-year-old minor, his neighbour’s daughter. Justice Rahman Oshodi, in his judgment, held that the prosecution had established beyond reasonable doubt, the charge of defilement against Onuoha.
