A former Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice, Olasupo Shasore, SAN, was yesterday arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, before a Federal High in Lagos for allegedly laundering $200,000. Shasore was alleged to have induced one Olufolakemi Adelore, in accepting a cash payment of the sum of $100,000, without going through a financial institution. Two boys, Farouk Mohammed, 16, and Kasali Jamiu, 19, have been remanded by a Lagos High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Thursday, at the Special Correctional Centre for Boys, Oregun, and the Ikoyi Custodial Centre, respectively. According to an analysis by SBM Intelligence, Nigerian students and their dependants in the United Kingdom have contributed an estimated £1.9bn to the economy of the UK in one year.
