Commuters travelling on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, on Tuesday were reportedly attacked by gunmen dressed in military uniforms. The gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, stormed the road from nearby bush before the Sagamu Interchange, en route Lagos, and started shooting sporadically at commuters in the 18-passenger inter-state bus. Two bus drivers who were dressed in military camouflage along the Eko Bridge yesterday reportedly assaulted a police inspector, Ben Thompson, and an official of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, Caleb Akerele. The drivers were reportedly conveying passengers on a one-way route from Costain to Ijora Olopa in commercial buses, when they were accosted by the traffic officers.
