The Ogun State Government has announced plans to prosecute TikTok personality Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, following a series of road crashes that officials say have put the public at risk.
In a statement released Monday on its official X handle, the Ministry of Justice said it had directed that Abiodun’s pending case in Sagamu be fast-tracked to ensure his prompt arraignment.
The case stems from an incident on 1 November 2025, when Abiodun allegedly rammed into two motorcycles in Sagamu, seriously injuring a rider and a female passenger. Eyewitnesses claimed he attempted to flee but was restrained by bystanders.
The ministry described Abiodun as a recurring danger on the road, noting that multiple recent crashes involving him had been captured on video. The statement said his quick return to driving “just three weeks after” the Sagamu crash underscored the need for state intervention amid public concern.
Authorities also referenced a separate incident on 23 November 2025 in Lekki, Lagos State, where Abiodun was involved in a lone-car crash that narrowly missed pedestrians. “This lone car incident almost harmed pedestrians, but for good fortune and the pedestrians’ quick reflexes,” the statement noted.
Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, SAN, has directed officers to expedite prosecution of the Sagamu case.
“The Office of the Attorney-General is working closely with the police to achieve this outcome,” the ministry added, reaffirming its commitment to protecting road users from dangerous driving.
