The search for a missing Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer, SRC Lasisi Funmilayo Oluwamayokun, and her young daughter, Sewa, has taken a horrific turn after their bodies were reportedly discovered in the home of a suspected herbalist in Osun State.
Lasisi, 38, attached to the FRSC Abeokuta Unit, disappeared with her daughter on Sunday, November 2, 2025, after leaving their residence at Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. Efforts by family members and colleagues to reach her were unsuccessful, prompting a missing person report at the Kemta Divisional Police Headquarters on November 5.
A source close to the grieving husband confirmed over the weekend that the remains of the duo were found in the residence of a herbalist within an undisclosed community in Osun State. The location has now become the center of a widening investigation stretching across two states.
Authorities have arrested the herbalist’s wife, while the main suspect—her husband—has reportedly fled, sparking an intensive manhunt. Police investigators believe he may have been directly involved in the deaths, though the exact circumstances remain under investigation.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Ph.D., has ordered a comprehensive probe and directed homicide detectives to collaborate with the Osun State Police Command to track down the fugitive.
“The loss of an officer and her child in such disturbing circumstances is unacceptable. We will follow every lead to uncover the truth and ensure all those involved face justice,” CP Ogunlowo said.
The grisly discovery has thrown the FRSC community in Abeokuta into mourning, with neighbours and colleagues struggling to comprehend the tragic fate of the officer and her daughter.
Police are urging members of the public with credible information on the whereabouts of the fleeing herbalist to come forward as the investigation intensifies.
