PDP Expels Wike, Fayose, Anyanwu, Others for Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday expelled several prominent members at its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, citing longstanding anti-party activities.

Those removed from the party include former Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike; former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose; Senator Samuel Anyanwu; Senior Advocate of Nigeria Kamaldeen Ajibade; Hon. Austin Nwachukwu; among others.

In a brief communique issued at the convention, the PDP said the expulsions were part of a sweeping effort to restore unity and discipline within its ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The decision, which received overwhelming approval from delegates, reflects the party’s resolve to confront internal divisions and stamp out conduct detrimental to its progress,” the statement read.
