COVID-19: Nigeria’s infections hit 188,880

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says that Nigeria’s COVID-19 infections on Wednesday stood at 188,880. A total of 637 additional infections and seven deaths were recorded on Aug. 25, the NCDC announced via its verified website on Thursday. The Lagos State Ministry of Health has said more than 500 deaths were recorded in isolation centres across the state. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has recorded 1,149 new cases of coronavirus, the highest number of infections in any single day since February 2020. The Federal Government, yesterday, said it was not considering a fresh lockdown following increase in COVID-19 cases.
