Baby factory uncovered in Nasarawa, victims rescued

A suspected baby factory located at Ado Kasa in Karu Local Council has been uncovered by operatives of Nasarawa State Police Command. The operatives also rescued six young girls and a baby of about six months at St. Bridget Orphanage Home in Karu. 
 
A spokesperson for the Command, Ramhan Namsel, said detectives attached to the Area Command, New Karu, acting based on a tip off, invaded the suspected baby factory. 
 
The police said the suspects include: Mr. Eze Ezeogu Norbert, Mrs. Nnaemeka Eze, Mrs. Okechukwu Ogechi and Mrs. Obiagheli Chidi.  
“Preliminary Investigation revealed that the operator of the illegal orphanage home abducted under-aged pregnant girls, held them hostage till they gave birth and sold their children to the highest bidder.
 
“Further Investigation also revealed that the Oorphanage home was not registered.
 
“The suspects and victims have been handed over to National Agency for the Prosecution of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for further investigation and prosecution,” Namsel added.
