Magistrates protest over unpaid salaries, block Governor Ayade’s office

Armed with placards while singing solidarity songs in protest over non-payment of their two-year salaries, about 30 Magistrates in Cross River State yesterday(Monday), blocked the second gate leading to Governor Ben Ayade’s office in Calabar. The state’s Chief Magistrate, Solomon Abuo, said the protest was their last resort after several pleas and correspondences to the state government yielded no desired result.
