Oyo governor tests positive for coronavirus

Seyi Makinde, the Oyo State Governor, has tested positive for coronavirus. He made this known via his Twitter handle on Monday. “I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is positive. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate,” he said. Ogun governor says lockdown to commence Friday

Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun, has said the lockdown of the state has been shifted to Friday. Abiodun said the state government made a request to the President Muhammadu Buhari, to shift the lockdown which was supposed to take place on Monday night to Friday, April 3, 2020, and has been granted. He said the request was to prepare for the lockdown by providing food for the people. Nigeria records second coronavirus death

Nigeria has recorded its second coronavirus death as cases in the country increased to 111. This was confirmed by the Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, on Monday. Senators on Monday pledged that they would sustain the donation of their half salaries to the Federal Government until the nation is totally free of the pandemic. Coronavirus: Israeli PM, Netanyahu, aides, under quarantine

After a staffer within his office tested positive for COVID-19, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his close aides have been placed under quarantine, a statement said. “Before the epidemiological investigation was completed and to dispel any doubts, the prime minister decided that he and his close staff would be in confinement until (tests) were completed,” said a statement from Netanyahu’s office.
